Timeline Revealed For Major Room Refurbishment at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
If you have been following along here at MickeyBlog, you know that Walt Disney World is in the midst of numerous resort refurbishments.
As we speak, major projects are underway at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club Resort, and BoardWalk Inn.
Additionally, we have seen room refurbishments take place at Port Orleans – Riverside, Pop Century, and Kidani Village.

Now, Disney World has announced another new refurbishment that will kick off next year.
Art of Animation Room Renovations Begin Next Year
A new update to the Walt Disney World website has revealed that Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be undergoing a refurbishment from mid-June 2027 through October 2028.
The project will be conducted in phases, with one themed area being refurbished at a time.
According to Disney, guests may see or hear maintenance work in the area during the day. Additionally, paths of travel may be altered.
A “Hard-Goods” Refurbishment Begins Next Year
While details on the upcoming Art of Animation refurbishment have yet to be announced, the expectation is that the resort rooms will be undergoing a “hard-goods” refurbishment, meaning new flooring, fixtures, and decor will be on the way.
The renovations will mark the first time since Art of Animation opened in 2012 that the rooms have received a hard-goods refurbishment.
At this time, Disney has not revealed its exact plans for the rooms, which feature The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo sections.
