Stuck Train Causes Multi-Day Closure for Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Andy must be home, as the Slinky Dog Dash attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is closed as of press time on September 2.
This marks the third consecutive day that the marquee Toy Story Land offering has been down. It did not open at all on either August 31 or September 1.
Slinky Dog Dash Closed for Third Consecutive Day
The Walt Disney World app lists the ride as “Temporarily Closed.” Disney has not yet shared an official reason for the attraction’s extended closure.
However, there appears to be a pretty clear explanation. A train looks to be stranded on the tracks.
The vehicle is stuck beneath the bridge leading to the attraction’s entrance. This is also the location of the ride’s second launch.
We spotted maintenance workers in the area, suggesting that the search for a solution is ongoing. However, there’s no indication as to when the ride will reopen.
Both of Toy Story Land’s other rides—Toy Story Mania! and Alien Swirling Saucers—are operating normally.
As of now, other wait times across Disney’s Hollywood Studios don’t seem egregiously inflated by Slinky Dog Dash’s closure.

Slinky Dog Dash opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30, 2018, alongside the rest of Toy Story Land.
It’s a well-themed moderate-thrill roller coaster that’s exhilarating for the whole family. It’s one of the park’s more popular attractions, making its extended closure a bit of a headache.

Things like this happen, and there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Toy Story Land! Toy Story Mania! is still one of the park’s most enjoyable attractions, even 18 years after its initial opening.

The land is also right around the corner from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Both Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon — Smugglers Run are operating normally as of press time.
