2028 Disney Skyliner Refurbishment Dates Revealed at Walt Disney World

Here at MickeyBlog, there is nothing we like more than a trip aboard the Disney Skyliner.

The gondolas that now glide above the resort have transformed Disney’s transportation system, connecting previously isolated hotels like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Art of Animation Resort to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and, by extension, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort and the Magic Kingdom.

A staple of Walt Disney World since 2019, the Skyliner has become an essential part of a Walt Disney World vacation.

The Yearly Refurbishment

While the Disney Skyliner has proven to be an immensely reliable mode of transportation, the gondola system does close for a yearly refurbishment.

Thankfully, Disney gives plenty of notice of the plan for the annual closure.

2028 Closure Dates Revealed

A new update to the Walt Disney World website has revealed that the Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment from January 24 through February 2, 2028.

As we previously reported, the 2027 closure will also take place from January 24 through February 2.

While the closure will be brief both years, it will impact guests staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Art of Animation Resort.

Make Sure You Plan Ahead

During the refurbishment, complimentary bus service will be offered from the aforementioned resorts to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

So, if you have an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, be sure to plan ahead.

You may not be able to soar high above The Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get around.
