Disney+ Is Developing a Series Based on Rick Riordan’s ‘The Kane Chronicles’
Following the massive success of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan and Angela Robinson are teaming up to adapt The Kane Chronicles for Disney+.
While Percy Jackson draws inspiration from Greek mythology, Riordan’s The Kane Chronicles draws on ancient Egyptian mythology.

The book series follows Carter and Sadie Kane, siblings separated after their mother’s death.
Their lives change forever when their father takes them to the British Museum and performs an ancient Egyptian ritual using the Rosetta Stone. Unfortunately, things go wrong, and the family accidentally releases the Egyptian gods into the modern world.

Eventually, the siblings learn that they are descendants of Egyptian magicians who have the ability to host the spirits of gods.
A Long Road to Disney+
As reported by Nexus Point News, 20th Television acquired the rights to The Kane Chronicles in 2024. Previously, Netflix was developing a trilogy of films based on the franchise.
When the Netflix trilogy failed to materialize, the rights reverted to Riordan.

Now, the series has found new life as a Disney+ series.
What We Know About ‘The Kane Chronicles’
In addition to Riordan, Angela Robinson will co-create The Kane Chronicles. She previously directed two episodes of Wednesday and wrote for both How to Get Away With Murder and True Blood.

At this time, there is no word on when The Kane Chronicles will debut on Disney+.
