Tropical Storm Dolly Forms in Atlantic: Could Disney World Be Affected?
Tropical Storm Dolly has officially formed in the central Atlantic, becoming the fourth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, and forecasters are watching closely.
Dolly Expected to Be Short-Lived

When it comes to storms or hurricanes, Central Florida is always watching. Will this impact Orlando or your Disney World location? Good news for travelers!
For now, the system does not pose an immediate threat to Central Florida or Walt Disney World.

Dolly was previously being monitored as Invest 96L, which had reached a 90% chance of development Thursday morning.
The National Hurricane Center began issuing advisories on the newly formed tropical storm at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Dolly currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph as it moves west across the Atlantic. Forecasters expect the storm to encounter increasingly hostile conditions, including stronger wind shear, beginning Friday.
The good news? Those conditions are expected to weaken Dolly, with the storm potentially dissipating by the end of the weekend.

At this time, no direct impacts are expected for Florida or Walt Disney World. Dolly remains far out in the Atlantic, and current forecasts show it weakening well before the system approaches the United States.
The most we can expect is more thunderstorms and rain, so download your favorite weather app and be prepared for changing conditions.
