We’re here at 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where we’ve just found out the BIGGEST news about Frozen 3 to date!
D23: The Ultimate Frozen Expo?
Yes, the 2026 D23 Expo is happening here at the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend, and MickeyBlog are thrilled to be there reporting live on all the news!
Tonight, all eyes are over at the Honda Center, where the highly-anticipated Entertainment Showcase is currently underway, giving us all the best announcements of everything we can look forward to watching in the future!
We had hoped that the long-awaited third instalment of the Frozen franchise would be mentioned in this showcase, after writer and director Jennifer Lee first announced that Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 were both in development back at D23 in 2024.

Now, we’re beyond excited to share the news that the movie will hit theaters in Fall 2027!
Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad all took to the stage to share the news and gave us some incredible first looks at the movie itself!

Now that wasn’t on my D23 bingo card!
Not only this, but we’ll also see Anna’s wedding in this new movie, and new stills showed us our first look at her gorgeous gown!
Elsa is looking as stunning as always too, here wearing a beautiful pink “Sister of the Bride” outfit!
Frozen Is Back!
Back in 2024, Jennifer Lee teased us with a rough synopsis of the movie, sharing, “In this new chapter, witness the wedding of the century in Arendelle as Queen Anna walks down the aisle and joins Elsa on a new magical journey filled with unknown challenges. And what’s even more exciting: the royal family is about to welcome a mysterious new member!”
While we knew that a 2027 release date was expected for Frozen 3, it was also revealed back in February this year that an all-new short will debut in October 2026, bridging that countdown to the full-length movie!
With Josh Gad himself sharing that he believes Frozen 3 will be the most hilarious instalment in the franchise yet, we know we simply can’t wait to experience the movie with audiences next year.
