PHOTOS: Crowds RUSH to Adopt Interactive Ewoks at Disneyland
“Bright Suns” from Disneyland, everyone!
We’re here at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this morning… along with quite a few fellow travellers.
What has brought us all here today, you ask? Well, EWOKS, of course!
Ewok Fever
Wow, have you seen these crowds? I don’t think Ewoks have had quite this much attention since the second Death Star exploded!
Yes, all these fans have descended upon Batuu today to try and get their hands on one of the brand-new, interactive Ewok plushes, which have just landed here in Disneyland today.
We first reported on these hilarious little plushes just last week, and the short wait for their release is finally over!

With their “expressive eyes, motorized facial expressions, and a mix of signature sounds,” these unique Ewok plushes were always destined to become the latest craze among fans.
After all, who wouldn’t want an Ewok sidekick on their travels throughout the galaxy?
A Line All the Way Back to Endor
As you can see from our photos, the queue for the plushes really is a sight to behold.
According to Cast Members, the wait time to enter into Droid Depot to purchase an Ewok was between one and two hours long, rivalling the wait times for rides and attractions throughout the rest of the park.
Today is also D23 Day, which has led to the park being even more of a hive of excitement than usual, so we imagine the line will only keep growing as the day goes on!
Of course, us Star Wars-loving MickeyBloggers hopped in the line and were reassured by Cast Members who told us their prediction that the Ewok supply likely won’t sell out today.
A strict two-Ewoks-per-person rule is in place and — although supplies are limited — we’re hopeful there’ll be plenty of Ewoks to go around!
“Batuu Adventure Buddies”
As we were waiting in line, we managed to get our hands on this helpful guide to the new Ewok toy.
Sorry, allow me to correct myself there!
According to this sheet, the Ewoks “aren’t ordinary toys” at all, but instead “friends from across the galaxy who respond to your touch, accessories, and even each other!”
Yep, these Ewoks look like they’re going to be interactive on a whole new level, with unique haptics, animations, and expressions to really give the toys that life-like feeling.
Similar to how the Droid Depot droids work, the Ewoks will respond to special accessories (or “gear packs”) and other toys while out in the world.
Alone, they’ll display states such as hunger, sleep, and boredom, meaning that looking after these little dudes sounds like it’ll be quite the task!
And, yes! The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that these guides also reference two other new faces in the “Batuu Adventure Buddies” range.
An adorable Grogu plush and a Huttlet friend will also join the collection later in the year!
In addition to the Ewok, accessory packs are currently available for $29.99 each. They are intended to enhance the interactions of the Batuu Buddy, which must be activated by a Cast Member.
