A ‘Spaceship Earth’ Series Is in Development at Disney+
In what can only be described as a delightful decision, Disney+ has ordered a pilot for Spaceship Earth, a new series inspired by the iconic EPCOT attraction.
While details about Disney’s plans for the project remain under wraps, the series will draw inspiration from the attraction’s storyline and tell a time-traveling adventure.

EPCOT
“When a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry, a small band of teenagers from Earth’s past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.”
The Team Behind the Series
The new Spaceship Earth series will be written by Jason Fuchs, who will also serve as showrunner.

Previously, Fuchs wrote a pilot for an ABC series based on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That project, however, never moved forward.

Joining Fuchs on the creative team are Loki showrunner Michael Waldron, director Lee Toland Krieger, Adam Fishbach, and Adam Fasullo.
Disney Has Tried to Create New Attraction-Themed Content
Over the past several years, Disney has explored numerous projects inspired by its theme park attractions.

These have included two Figment projects, a Club 33 film, and a Tiana series that was originally intended to tie into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Other announced projects that have yet to materialize include Ryan Reynolds’ planned Society of Explorers and Adventurers film, Scarlett Johansson’s Tower of Terror movie, and a Space Mountain film.

Hopefully, Spaceship Earth will become the latest Disney Parks-inspired project to make it to the screen.
