Disney World Reveals New Solar-Powered Trash Cans Across the Resort

Small changes can have big impacts! Disney is making another behind-the-scenes improvement across Walt Disney World.

A newly released video on X showcases the resort’s new solar-powered trash and recycling bins, which are beginning to appear throughout the property.

Upgraded Trash Bins

Disney

Trash cans at Disney World just got even better! The upgraded bins feature built-in solar-powered compactors that compress waste, allowing each container to hold significantly more trash before Cast Members need to empty it.

They also include hands-free foot-pedal operation, making disposal easier and helping guests avoid touching the lid.

Fewer collections allow Cast Members to focus on other areas of the park and be more available to guests! Also, the touch-free design offers a more hygienic experience for everyone.

While the new bins may not be the flashiest addition to the parks, they represent another option for guest convenience and operational efficiency.

Each trash can still features artwork that represents the theme of its area.
