Disney’s Old Key West Resort Refurbishment to Impact Boat Service and Guest Areas
There is a lot of change happening around the Walt Disney World resort right now. The parks and hotels are getting multiple glow-ups, including EPCOT restroom areas, Tower of Terror, Carousel of Progress, and more.
Guests staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort should be aware of and plan around some temporary projects coming to the resort.
Refurbishment Coming to Old Key West Resort
Guests staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort should be aware of several refurbishment projects taking place over the next few months.
From July 20 through early August, refurbishment work along the Sassagoula River Cruise route will temporarily suspend boat transportation between Old Key West and Disney Springs.
During this time, guests should use complimentary Walt Disney World bus transportation instead.
Additional Maintenance
The resort’s Hospitality House will also undergo exterior maintenance through mid-September 2026.
While all amenities are expected to remain available, guests may notice construction activity during daytime hours and occasional changes to walking paths around the area.
In addition, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course will remain closed for renovations through October 2026.
Guests staying in rooms overlooking the course may experience construction-related views until the project is complete.
