Disney Has Filed a VERY Interesting New Typhoon Lagoon Permit Application
With the launch of Cool Kids’ Summer earlier this year, Walt Disney World has come alive with new experiences, attractions, and character interactions.
Over the last several months, we have seen the debut of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, The Walt Disney Studios Lot, Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, and the updated versions of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Now, it looks like Disney is getting ready to kick off a new construction project at Typhoon Lagoon.
Disney’s New Permit Application
Disney has applied for a new permit with the South Florida Water Management District for a new “Typhoon Lagoon Backstage Parking Lot.”
Looking over the new permit application, it appears that Disney wants to create a new fenced-in gravel parking lot, along with a new driveway, entrance gate, and sidewalk.
While the new permit application does not point to any larger plans, it could have major implications.
What Does it Mean?
At this point, the question is why Disney wants to create more parking.
On one hand, the new lot may be a solution to the parking shortages that have occasionally plagued the water park.
Often, Typhoon Lagoon’s main parking lot reaches capacity, forcing guests to park in the Cast Member lot and Cast Members to park elsewhere.
On the other hand, it is possible that the new parking lot permit is part of a larger plan to increase Typhoon Lagoon’s capacity, either through an expansion or the addition of a new attraction.
At this time, Disney has not released any information about a possible addition to Typhoon Lagoon, so we will have to wait and see.
