Veteran Executive Alisa Bowen Is Making the Jump From Disney+ to Fubo
Alisa Bowen is stepping down as president of Disney+ to become Fubo’s next CEO.
The move comes less than a month after Disney purchased a 70% stake in Fubo and eventually merged the service with Hulu + Live TV.

On Thursday, the streamer’s board of directors appointed Bowen to succeed Fubo co-founder David Gandler, who had led the company for more than a decade.
As part of the restructuring, Gandler is also stepping down from Fubo’s board.

“It has been an honor to lead Fubo since co-founding the company, and I am incredibly proud of everything our team has accomplished over the past 11 years. I look forward to following the company’s continued growth and success in the months and years ahead,” he said in a statement.
Bowen’s Disney Career
Bowen is a longtime Disney executive who was a founding member of the company’s streaming leadership team.

Over the past decade, she has helped build and scale Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. In November 2022, she was named president of Disney+, a position she held until this week.
“I am excited to lead Fubo in its next phase as we sharpen its strategy across sports, news and entertainment, accelerate growth and drive profitability, while delivering even greater value to Fubo and Hulu + Live TV subscribers, our advertisers and our content partners,” she said.

The Next Chapter
In her new role, Bowen will not only be tasked with leading Fubo forward, but she will also receive a seat on the company’s board.

According to an SEC filing, her base salary will be $1.576 million, and she will also be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
“Following the combination with Hulu + Live TV last year, Fubo has reached a pivotal moment in its strategic evolution, with a compelling pay TV platform, strong content portfolio and unique integration in the Disney ecosystem,” said Andy Bird, chairman of Fubo’s board.

Who Will Replace Her
At this time, it is unclear who will replace Bowen as president of Disney+.
