The Beak and Barrel is About to Become More Accessible
It’s safe to say that The Beak and Barrel is a hit.
The intricately detailed, endlessly immersive Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern has garnered quite a favorable reputation since opening at Magic Kingdom last August, and for good reason. It’s essentially a tangible extension of one of the most iconic Disney Parks attractions ever conceived — what’s not to love?
Guests have overwhelmingly shared this sentiment, as it’s quite often crowded. A reservation at the Adventureland lounge is one of the hardest to secure at Walt Disney World, often filling up months in advance.
There’s good news, however, for those interested in visiting the bar but have found no luck securing a reservation. A recent change on the My Disney Experience app indicates that The Beak and Barrel is about to become far more accessible.
Walk-Up Option Coming to The Beak and Barrel
A “Join Walk-Up List” option now appears when viewing The Beak and Barrel on the My Disney Experience app. It’s not yet accessible, but its addition indicates that the tavern will soon start accepting walk-ups.
This, again, marks a significant change, as the lounge has thus far been accessible only by reservation. Walk-ups, when available, are expected to be handled on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to capacity.
Though walk-up service is never guaranteed, this is an encouraging (prospective) change that should make the tavern more accessible. Reservations for The Beak and Barrel generally fill up within minutes of each new reservation window’s opening.
This alteration, should it soon be formally enacted, will give guests who missed out on a reservation another opportunity to grab a drink at the new Magic Kingdom staple.

Much like Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, The Beak and Barrel has a 45-minute time limit per party. Each person is limited to two drinks, and no alcohol can be taken off the premises.
The tavern is teeming with theming everywhere you look — you may spend your allotted time simply in awe of each minute detail. The lounge serves beer, wine, and various speciality cocktails, among them the Plunderer’s Punch, which is served in a souvenir skull mug.
The lounge also serves non-alcoholic beverages for those not looking to spice up their day. The Beak and Barrel does offer four distinct food options, but it’s primarily a tavern and, thus, doesn’t have an overly extensive menu.
