A “Wild” New Big Thunder Mountain Little Golden Book Has Rolled Into Bookstores
Here at MickeyBlog, there are very few things that we love more than a Little Golden Book.
As someone who grew up enchanted by the illustrated stories, much of my early Disney knowledge came from old Little Golden Books that my family had lying around.

Thankfully, the tradition of releasing new Disney stories in Little Golden Book form has stood the test of time.
Over the last couple of years, we have seen new books inspired by Jungle Cruise, Orange Bird, The Little Man of Disneyland, and Jim Henson hit the shelves.

Now, we can add another exciting release to the ever-growing library.
A Big Thunder Mountain Little Golden Book Has Arrived
A new Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Little Golden Book has officially been released, expanding the lore surrounding the iconic Disney attraction.

Written by Josef Lemoine and illustrated by Stefano Zanchi, the new book brings the wildest ride in the wilderness into your home.
“Race through a haunted gold mine, dodge falling boulders, and keep a sharp eye out for long-forgotten treasures on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!” the book’s synopsis reads.

The Inspiration Behind the Story
In celebration of the book’s release, Josef Lemoine took to LinkedIn to share a little about the inspiration behind the story.

“This was a fun one to write, and I’m excited for fellow parents to read it to their small fry. I know I can’t wait to read it to mine. And the art! My word. Like the ride itself, Stefano’s artwork is truly breathtaking,” he wrote.

“Like so many other fans, Big Thunder was a rite of passage for me. I remember the first time I watched that little engine dart into that dark, narrow cave, I quietly wondered, Can I really do this? The speed, the dark, the screams all had my body buzzin’ with adrenaline, and every instinct was telling me, ‘Nope. No way. You absolutely cannot.'”
