A Screening, a Burst of Inspiration, and a New Toy Story Anthem

Taylor Swift’s original Toy Story 5 song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” is quickly climbing the charts and becoming a fan favorite hit.
The story behind it is almost as remarkable as the song itself.

According to Swift, an early screening of Toy Story 5 sparked an immediate creative reaction.
After watching the film, she rushed home with what she called a case of the “songwriter zoomies” and began working on the movie’s end-credit track.

In a video shared on release day, Swift revealed that she attended a screening at 11 a.m. and spent the rest of the day writing, producing, and recording the song.
Even more impressive? She did all of this before a scheduled evening meeting with Disney CEO Bob Iger and Pixar leadership.
Jessie Inspired the Song

Swift explained during a Good Morning America interview that much of her inspiration came from Jessie, the beloved cowgirl introduced in Toy Story 2.
The singer reflected on Jessie’s emotional journey throughout the franchise, including the heartbreak fans witnessed in her iconic Toy Story 2 storyline.
