Disney Reveals Latest Details About The Wetlands at Disney Lakeshore Lodge
Disney has just released the latest update in its ongoing “Letters from Lakeshore” series.
The last “letter” gave us an introductory look at Disney Lakeshore Lodge with concept art, room details, and the overall ambiance.
Today, fans get a closer look at The Wetlands, a large outdoor recreation area coming to Disney Lakeshore Lodge when the resort opens in summer 2027.
The Wetlands
Located along the shores of Bay Lake, The Wetlands is designed to blend relaxation, family fun, and nature-inspired storytelling.
Families can take a breath and relax! The newest concept art highlights several themed areas that will help bring the resort’s outdoor spaces to life.
Play Areas, Water Features, and Bay Lake Views
According to Disney, younger guests will enjoy themed play areas inspired by Pocahontas.
Another cool area? Heron Shores will feature climbing and exploration activities, while Otter Springs will offer interactive water fun where kids can splash and cool off.
Looking to relax? Guests can float along the Daydream River lazy river or spend time at Lakeside Lagoon, the resort’s zero-entry pool, complete with a spiral waterslide.
And if you need a quieter experience, Perspective Pond will offer a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Disney also shared that guests will find educational elements throughout the recreation area! Check out the information about local wildlife and a special tribute to a historic attraction that once stood on that very spot.
