Disney Brings The Simpsons to Fortnite’s IP Partner Program
As the relationship between Disney and Fortnite continues to grow and develop, we have seen more and more characters make their way into the game.
Previously, Disney added Star Wars characters to Fortnite’s IP Partner Program, giving the game’s global development community access to one of the world’s most beloved franchises.

Within the first 72 hours of the launch, nearly 8 million players jumped into custom Star Wars islands built by the development community.
Now, it is The Simpsons’ turn.

“I can’t wait to see what the Fortnite superfans and also The Simpsons superfans come up with!” said Matt Selman, executive producer and showrunner of The Simpsons.
The arrival of Homer, Bart, and the rest of the Simpsons was a hit last year, when 80 million players spent 780 million hours playing the Fortnite | The Simpsons season.

Now, developers will be able to put their own spin on Springfield.
“Together with Disney, we’ve seen what happens when beloved franchises are put in the hands of Fortnite creators,” said Adam Sussman, president of Epic Games. “Players respond when their favorite characters and stories are handled with care. Creators will be able to use The Simpsons toolkit, built with 20th Century Studios and Gracie Films, to make games that deeply engage fans.”
More to Come
According to Disney, more details will be forthcoming.

“‘The Simpsons’ has been making people laugh for over 35 years — parents grew up with it; their kids are also now discovering it. That kind of staying power is rare,” said Ray Gresko, senior VP and head of product and development at Disney Digital Entertainment.

“What we found with the Star Wars IP toolkit is that when you hand developers the assets — the characters, the worlds, the visual language — their passion for the content comes through in the surprising, creative, and engaging experiences they make. We wanted to see what that looks like with Springfield and we can’t wait to see what creators do with it.”
