Disney Announces New ‘Mickey’s Home Alone’ Animated Christmas Special
While the rest of the country enjoys some fun in the sun this summer, Disney is putting the finishing touches on its slate of holiday programming.
This morning, the studio announced that an animated Mickey Mouse special is in development, putting a fresh spin on Home Alone.

Titled Mickey’s Home Alone, the animated special will see Mickey looking forward to spending Christmas at home when Minnie surprises him with tickets to spend the holiday at the world-famous Ice Palace.

“In the morning rush to make it out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind and home alone. They find themselves protecting their home from two feisty villains, a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner, while Minnie and the gang desperately try to make their way back home,” the special’s synopsis teases.
Original Songs
In addition to putting a fresh spin on the Home Alone story, the new Mickey Mouse special will feature original songs.

These include “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling” by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin. There will also be a new arrangement of “Jungle Bells” crafted by Tony Morales.
When Will the Special Debut
While Disney has not announced when Mickey’s Home Alone will be released, the special will debut this holiday season on Disney Jr. and Disney+.

Wild Canary is producing the special in association with Disney Junior, while the newly rebranded Disney Kids & Family will release it.
