NASCAR’s Biggest Stars Celebrate 20 Years of ‘Cars’
In case you missed the news, Cars is officially celebrating its 20th anniversary today!
As crazy as it sounds, it has been two decades since audiences were first introduced to Lightning McQueen, the Piston Cup, Radiator Springs, and the rest of the franchise’s beloved characters.

A passion project from John Lasseter, the film tells the story of a hot-shot race car who finds himself stranded in Radiator Springs, Arizona, a small town along Route 66 that has been overshadowed by the new interstate.
“Aspiring champion race car Lightning McQueen is on the fast track to success, fame, and everything he’s ever hoped for, until he takes an unexpected detour on dusty Route 66,” the film’s synopsis reads.
