PHOTOS: Cinderella Castle’s Moat Has Been Fully Refilled at Magic Kingdom
Here at MickeyBlog, we have been closely following the ongoing refurbishment of Cinderella Castle for months now.
The repainting project, which began in January, has gradually restored Cinderella Castle’s classic color scheme.
For those who may not remember, the iconic Magic Kingdom landmark received a dramatic makeover in 2020 as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Inspired by the anniversary’s aesthetic, Cinderella Castle was transformed with a rose-pink exterior, deep blue rooftops, and shimmering gold accents.
The Repainting Has Wrapped Up
After showcasing the celebratory look for several years, Disney announced at last year’s Destination D23 event that the castle would once again be refreshed, this time with a color palette more closely resembling its original appearance.

The last time we checked in, the painting itself had been completed, and the moat around Cinderella Castle was starting to be refilled.
Now, we are back with another update.
Cinderella Castle’s Moat Has Been Refilled
When visiting Magic Kingdom this morning, we were thrilled to see that the Cinderella Castle moat is now completely refilled.
As you can see, the water is clearer than it has been in years.
It was downright glistening in the sun this morning.
Here is another look.
The return of the moat adds new life to the area surrounding Cinderella Castle.
The water really makes the castle’s new color scheme pop.
With blue skies overhead, the entire area looked like it came straight out of a storybook.
Now, guests are once again greeted by one of Disney’s most breathtaking sights.
The view from the bridge to Tomorrowland is also much more aesthetically pleasing now.

It is great to see Cinderella Castle restored to all its glory!
