Multiple Magic Kingdom Attractions Close After Earthquake Felt at Walt Disney World
If you have ever visited Walt Disney World in the summer, you know that you have to be prepared for the weather.
While June is hurricane season, there is always the possibility that rain, storms, humidity, and heat will affect your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Today, however, something entirely unexpected happened.
Earthquake Felt Near Walt Disney World
After a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck just off the coast of Cuba, thousands of Floridians felt tremors this afternoon.

According to a report from FOX 35, the shaking was noticeable across Central Florida, including Walt Disney World.
It was the strongest earthquake near Florida on record.

Following the quake, which had a depth of 26 miles, the National Weather Service took to social media to report that there was no tsunami threat.
Multiple Magic Kingdom Rides Close
While it is unclear how Walt Disney World was affected by the tremors, numerous attractions at Magic Kingdom closed following the earthquake.
As of 3:30 p.m. ET, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, and Country Bear Musical Jamboree were all still listed as closed.
Subsequently, Thunder Mountain reopened.
Elsewhere, Soarin’ Around America, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Na’vi River Journey also closed. It is unclear if these closures are related to today’s tremors.
At this time, there is no word on when the rest of the attractions will reopen.
