When to Visit Disney World Later This Year
With Memorial Day in the rearview mirror, school’s nearly out for the summer.
As families contemplate their next move, Disney is looking better and better.

Cinderella Castle
In a perfect world, we’d all escape the drudgery of our daily lives to visit Mickey Mouse.
However, summer is no longer the busy season at Walt Disney World.

So, you may be debating your next vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
When is the best time to visit Disney World later this year?
About All the Disney World Changes
On May 22nd and again on May 26th, Walt Disney World changed forever.
The parks introduced a historic number of new attractions and experiences.

Walt Disney Studios Lot
All of them will be available throughout 2026, giving you ample time to try each one.
The biggest draw for families is unquestionably Bluey’s Wild World.

Bluey’s Wild World
Disney has reinvented Conservation Station as the Bluey part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Children and their parents can enjoy several Bluey-related character interactions and activities.

Bluey’s Wild World
The Bluey addition will be wildly popular, so Disney temporarily added a virtual queue for it.
You should plan accordingly, as it may be necessary for a while.

Bluey’s Wild World
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is also only six months old, giving you two reasons to visit.
At EPCOT, Imagineers recently plussed Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Test Track version 3.0 is less than a year old as well. And that’s not all.
Soarin’ Across America, the patriotic version of the ride, is now available.

Soarin’ Across America
At Magic Kingdom, two beloved rides have returned in modified forms.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad aren’t new per se.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
However, Disney has heavily changed each one, making them feel different.
Then, we have all the differences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is now entertaining guests.
The Baby Yoda mission is up and running at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, too.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
And The Walt Disney Studios has replaced Animation Courtyard.
Several new Disney character greetings will be available at The Magic of Disney Animation soon.

The Magic of Disney Animation
Oh, and Cool Kids’ Summer will delight families through September 8th.
Disney has pulled out all the stops for 2026 vacationers.

Cool Kids’ Summer
For this reason, you’ll definitely want to visit this year. The only question is when.
June/July
Obviously, I’ve already hit the highlights of why you should visit this summer.
All the attractions and experiences I just listed will still be brand new.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets
After a few weeks in operation, the crowds will die down a bit, too.
I visited Walt Disney World on the day this stuff opened, and…yikes!

GoofyCore
To be fair, most of the debuts occurred on the day after Memorial Day.
So, the parks were already super-crowded. Then, Disney gave fans the new stuff to do.

Hollywood Studios Crowds
You should be grateful that you weren’t there that day, and if you were, I sympathize.
June and July should be calmer. Plus, you get the added bonus of Cool Kids’ Summer.

Bluey’s Wild World
Disney hosts tons of interactive events as a part of the festivities.
You and (especially) your kids can sing, dance, and play games.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
The parks will also offer several limited-time character greetings as part of the fun.
The only downside will be the heat, but MickeyBlog has you covered.

Cool Kids’ Summer
You’ll discover countless indoor attractions and hangout spots at the parks.
August
The biggest news occurs on August 7th, which is the happiest day of the year for some of us.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party debuts then.

2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
All Disney fans know that these parties are wildly popular and a ton of fun.
Some dates have already sold out or are close to doing so.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Trick or Treat Bag
Eventually, every single party will sell out, just as it does each year.
That statement alone reinforces why you should visit at this time of year.

Main Street U.S.A. during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
At Disney World, the fall season always starts as soon as the calendar turns to August.
So, even if you don’t plan to attend a party, you’ll still find plenty of Halloween merchandise, snacks, and drinks.
September
Something else starts on August 27th, but I’m slotting in September.
Otherwise, you may be confused and book the wrong dates for your trip.

2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is definitely a signature event.
Fans flock to EPCOT each year to try all the new and classic flavors.

2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
Food & Wine 2026 lasts until November 21st. So, you can include it with the next two months, too.
However, I maintain that September is the ideal time to visit the parks.

Coastal Eats – 2025 Food & Wine Festival
You still get the benefit of the Halloween experiences plus Food & Wine.
Even better, September is historically the slowest month on the annual calendar.

Gyozas of the Galaxy Spread
You’ll get to see and do so much more due to the lack of crowds.
October
Some people prefer to wait until October to celebrate Halloween.
Those people are my wife’s sworn enemies. She’ll have spooky decorations up on August 1st.

However, if you’re a loyalist who is faithful to the calendar, October is your right time.
Disney escalates the number of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties.

Halloween in Magic Kingdom
The best of them obviously takes place on Halloween Night.
For this reason, Halloween Night always sells out first, which it has already done this year.

Still, you’ll find Halloween Week absolutely vibrant at Disney World.
Other places get in on the fun, especially at Disney Springs.

Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Hangar Bar
I’ve spent a Halloween Night at the Edison here, and it was a blast.
To a larger point, you can still explore the parks at a time when they’re not that busy.

The crowds don’t typically swarm the parks until November because…
November
Once Magic Kingdom closes on Halloween Night, the change begins.
Invisible elves spend early morning hours converting the park into its next form.

Magic Kingdom
By the time that guests arrive on the following morning, everything is different.
On November 1st, 2026, Disney World’s theme parks will look like Christmas.

Hollywood Studios
After a week, nearly the entire conversion will be complete.
Various Disney resorts will put up giant Gingerbread Houses and other holiday decorations.

Contemporary Gingerbread House
By the middle of the month, Disney is officially celebrating Christmas.
Around this time, Jingle Cruise will return for yet another glorious run of holiday puns.

Jingle Cruise
A fierce debate exists among Disney fans about which is better: Halloween or Christmas.
I’m a devout believer that a secret hack enables the best answer: both.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Christmas decor
Arrive at the parks on or just before Halloween. Then, stay for a week.
That way, you get the best of both worlds: Halloween and Christmas!
December
Technically, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins in late November.
However, this event and its accompanying holiday activities will be in full force throughout December.

Festival of the Holidays banner
One of the highlights is the beloved Candlelight Processional at EPCOT.
Celebrity narrators host these events and retell the Nativity Story.

Candlelight Processional
To a larger point, the parks offer beloved options like the Merry Menagerie.
Most importantly, you’ll be spending part of the holiday season at Disney World.

Cookie Stroll cookies
Nothing could possibly top that, especially if you’re at the parks during Christmas Week.
If you’re that lucky, you can stay through New Year’s and ring in 2027 at Disney.

Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks
EPCOT is always wildly popular on New Year’s Eve. So, it’s the best spot due to the party.
I don’t need to single out any specific activity during December, though.

EPCOT New Year’s Eve
The reality is that everything is wonderful at this time of year.
If you’d like to visit Disney in December or any other time in 2026, you know what to do!
