Best and Worst Places to Eat at Magic Kingdom
When you visit the most popular theme park in the world, you’re going to get hungry.
So, we’re going to tell you where you should go to stave off your hunger pangs.

Classic Churro at Magic Kingdom
Here are the best and worst places to eat at Magic Kingdom.
Understanding Quick Service Vs. Table Service
You can grab and go at any number of kiosks at Magic Kingdom.
Many of them sell one to four entrees and are intended as places you’d target for emergency food or a snack.
Popcorn at Magic Kingdom
I’m trying to guide you toward doing a little better with your dining so you won’t feel like you just wasted money on something with bland flavor.
Disney is the gold standard for theme park dining; however, you will discover a few misfires, especially at Magic Kingdom.

Due to the size and layout of the park, you’ll be tempted to eat somewhere convenient versus somewhere delicious.
That’s legitimately one of the worst mistakes you can make during your park visit.

I encourage you to choose either a Quick Service or Table Service restaurant, but I’ll warn you that not all Quick Service restaurants are created equal.
As an example, Golden Oak Outpost is ostensibly a Quick Service restaurant that serves hot honey chicken and a candied bacon skewer.

When you glance at the app, you may think one of those sounds perfect.
Then, when you arrive at the “restaurant,” you’ll discover a shack approximately the size of your she-shed.

My recommendations today all include a place where you can sit down, relax, and catch your breath, because you need to recuperate.
Table Service restaurants are quite a bit better for this, but they come at a price – literally.

Be Our Guest
You’ll probably pay double for a Table Service restaurant than a Quick Service restaurant at Magic Kingdom.
In two extreme cases, the price is MUCH higher.

Skipper Canteen
For this reason, we’ll at least casually discuss price in the table service section.
The other big difference is that with Quick Service restaurants, you can use Mobile Ordering. When in doubt, always use Mobile Ordering.
Best and Worst Quick Service
We’ll start with the worst Quick Service restaurant, so we can establish our criteria.
Pretty much everything you do at Magic Kingdom will be fun, which negates the concerns about a “bad” meal.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
As an example, I’m suggesting that you pass on Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
Simultaneously, I must confess that I eat here regularly, and the explanation is simple.

Cosmic Ray’s Spring Break crowds
I’m a sucker for Sonny Eclipse, the audio-animatronic musician who performs in one seating area at the restaurant.
I’ve never gotten tired of this show, even though it’s more than 30 years old.

Sonny Eclipse
In all that time, the best meal I’ve ever had here would be described as “meh.”
You just don’t eat at Starlight Cafe for the food.

So, unless you’re a shameless tourist like me, you can treat your tummy better at several other places.
The top choice is Columbia Harbour House, which is nearly as old as the theme park itself.

Columbia Harbour House
For more than 50 years, this restaurant has served delicious seafood in a cozy New England setting.
The concept is that you’re one of the first Americans, and you’re staying at an inn by the ocean.

Thus, fish dishes drive the menu, and the lobster roll is absolutely iconic.
You’ll also appreciate Columbia Harbor House’s location, which is right across from Haunted Mansion.

The other Quick Service restaurants I’d suggest include Pinocchio Village Haus and Casey’s Corner.
The latter restaurant is niche, as it won’t help you much unless you like hot dogs or corn dogs.

All-Beef Hot Dog
So, Pinocchio’s Village Haus is your best bet due to its deep menu and ideal location.
You’ll find it in Fantasyland, just past “it’s a small world” and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Pinocchio Village Haus
Flatbreads are the top choice, but there are chicken strips and sandwiches for pickier eaters.
Best and Worst Table Service Dining
Table Service dining at Magic Kingdom may seem counterintuitive.
Since you want to experience all the park’s attractions, you may not prefer to spend 60 to 90 minutes sitting down at a restaurant.

Skipper Canteen
Conversely, you can enjoy some unprecedented experiences here, such as a Jungle Cruise meal.
Also, at two different restaurants, you can dine inside a castle.

Inside Cinderella’s Royal Table
So, we’re discussing excellent meals in unprecedented settings.
As far as the restaurants to avoid, there are two clear-cut options.

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
Tony’s Town Square Restaurant celebrates Lady and the Tramp and even sometimes shows the movie in the restaurant waiting area.
As for the food, well, it’s fun nuzzling a meatball to your date.

Lady and the Tramp Statue – Tony’s
Seriously, this place makes the short list of the most overrated restaurants at Disney World.
Somehow, The Plaza Restaurant’s food is even blander, so it’s a hard pass.

The Plaza Restaurant
The best Magic Kingdom restaurant in terms of value is Liberty Tree Tavern, which serves Thanksgiving dinner every meal. Yes, I’m serious.
The current price here is $45 per adult or $24 per child, and it’s All You Care to Enjoy.

Liberty Tree Tavern
The value is off the charts, and the food is sublime.
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen sells the Jungle Cruise experience as a meal.

Cheese Bread – Jungle Skipper Canteen
Your server will deliver “Skipper Spiel,” and your meal will blow your mind.
This restaurant’s menu is more eclectic than any you’ll find at EPCOT.

“Tastes like Chicken” Because it is!
Siu pork and Falafels aren’t items you expect to find on a theme park menu.
I love the confidence of Skipper Canteen’s menu, but I’ll level with you that I go for the dialogue.
Final Thoughts
By the way, I didn’t include Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella’s Royal Table because they’re not priced like Table Service restaurants.
Their Prix Fixe menus cost 30 to 40 percent more than other Table Service eateries.

Be Our Guest
If you don’t mind spending a bit more, these are Magic Kingdom’s best two meals, though.
