Luna the Elephant Celebrates Her 16th Birthday at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom has become beloved for its immersive environments, amazing attractions, and world-class cuisine, anyone who has ever visited the park knows that the animals are the real stars.
From Bakso the tiger to the new kangaroos at Conservation Station, Disney’s Animal Kingdom brings guests up close and personal with some of the most majestic creatures on the planet.

Over time, these animals begin to feel like part of the Disney family.

With that in mind, it is my pleasure to report that one of Animal Kingdom’s fan-favorite residents is celebrating a birthday!

A resident of Disney’s Animal Kingdom since she was born, Luna has become a staple of the park’s savanna over the years.
To celebrate the pachyderm’s big day, the Animal Care Team whipped up something special.
