Bob Iger Honored as an Icon of Culture by Perelman Performing Arts Center

Just months after handing over the reins of The Walt Disney Company to Josh D’Amaro, former CEO Bob Iger has picked up another honor.
The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) is bestowing Iger with its PAC NYC Icon of Culture Award at its October 27 gala.

The award will honor Iger for his influence on culture and impact on the entertainment world.
The Annoucement Was Made Today
The announcement that Iger would be honored was made by PAC NYC chair Michael R. Bloomberg and 2025 Icon of Culture Diane von Furstenberg.

“Bob Iger is one of the most ambitious and effective executives in the world, with 40 years of leadership in media and entertainment,” Bloomberg said.
“As CEO of Disney, he led one of the world’s most influential companies to new heights, including an unparalleled run of global box office hits. He’s been deeply committed to Lower Manhattan as a board member and supporter at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and as an early champion of the PAC. We’re also lucky to have him on the board at Bloomberg Philanthropies.”

In addition to his work at Disney, the PAC NYC gala will highlight Iger’s New York roots, including his time as a local weatherman in Ithaca.
“It is an honor to pass the baton of this prestigious recognition to my friend Bob Iger,” von Furstenberg added.

Iger Continues to Rack Up Honors and Awards
Since his retirement from The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger has received numerous awards and honors.

In just the last couple of months, he has been honored with an honorary doctorate from Howard University, given the inaugural WishMaker Lifetime Achievement Award by Make-A-Wish, and addressed cadets at the United States Military Academy.
Now, he can add another honor to his growing resume.
