Disneyland Will Introduce Electric Autopia Vehicles in Early 2027
In August 2024, Disneyland Park announced that the iconic Autopia attraction would be replacing its gas-powered cars with new electric vehicles.
At the time, Disneyland revealed that the transition would take place over the next two and a half years, with a target completion date set for Fall 2026.

Now, we finally have an update on those plans.
The Autopia Electric Vehicles Will Debut Next Year
According to a new report from the Orange County Register, Disneyland has reached an agreement with the California Air Resources Board to retire the current Autopia gas engines by 2027.

The Happiest Place on Earth is currently working on designing, engineering, and testing a fully electric ride vehicle prototype.
If you are familiar with Autopia’s history, you know that the attraction has undergone numerous refurbishments throughout its storied history.

Since opening in 1955, the attraction has seen major renovations in 1959, 1964, and 1968.

The last major update to the ride vehicles came in 2016, when Honda assumed sponsorship of the attraction.
Disneyland’s Net-Zero Emissions
The installation of electric Autopia vehicles would mark another major step toward Disney’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2030 through increased use of renewable energy.

At this time, there is no indication that Disneyland’s changes will affect the gas-powered vehicles at Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom.
