Walt Disney World Wait Times for End of April 2026
On Sunday, May 3rd, Magic Kingdom demonstrably improved.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened after an extended absence.

We don’t have a full week of data, so I won’t be discussing its wait times.
However, a MickeyBlog reporter has already posted scenes from Rope Drop.

They were the longest lines any of us can recall in the 2020s.
Guests basically stood in line for the entire west side of the park to ride it.

Does that weekend crowd indicate other ripple effects at the parks?
Let’s find out. Here are Walt Disney World’s average wait times for the end of April 2026.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The song remains the same at Animal Kingdom for another three weeks.
Bluey is coming to smite our enemies toward the end of the month.

For now, nothing much has changed at the park other than the weather.
Oh, and the weather wasn’t great last week, at least not by Florida standards.

That’s four minutes more than last time, which was admittedly on the soft side for April.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios
At Hollywood Studios, change is the name of the game.
We’re only a couple of weeks away from some dramatic differences here.

Disney
For the time being, May the 4th will happen around the time you read this.
This unofficial holiday always causes a surge at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Alas, our data cuts off the day before that. So, you’ll have to wait until next week.
Even then, the Star Wars surge only applies to one of seven days.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run adds its second mission on May 22nd.
Then, The Walt Disney Studios debuts on May 26th, and that’s not all.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets arrives on that day, too.
So, we’re officially in the calm before the storm at Hollywood Studios.
EPCOT

2026 Flower & Garden Festival
Meanwhile, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is ongoing.
As usual, the oldest festival at the park has sustained its traffic.

NEW Trendy Tropicals Garden – 2026 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
We’ve got almost exactly one month left in this year’s exhibition.
Then, Disney swaps out EPCOT festivals for Cool Kids’ Summer until late August.

The Citrus Blossom – 2026 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
That’s when the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins.

Final Thoughts

Photo: Disney
Overall, Magic Kingdom attractions required an average wait of 27 minutes.
That’s one minute less than last time, just like at EPCOT.

Overall, Walt Disney World’s average wait times were nearly identical week-over-week.
In glancing at the single day of data, I’ll go ahead and spoil something, though.

Amy Smith, Photographer
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s return did boost the crowds at Magic Kingdom.
In next week’s article, we’ll learn whether that was a single-day phenomenon or a trend.
