Lily and Jim’s Full-Circle Disney Make-A-Wish Story

Inspirational journeys that create a lasting impact on children and their families. Disney recently shared another inspiring story and show that wishes can go full circle.

Meet Lily and Jim. The father-daughter duo is now a cast member duo at Disneyland Resort, but their connection to Disney began years earlier through a life-changing wish.
“When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with a severe nervous system disorder,” Lily shared. “I was stable enough at 10-years-old to receive my wish from Make-A-Wish and Disney to go on the trip of a lifetime.”

In 2011, Lily’s wish brought her and her family aboard the Disney Dream for a trip filled with unforgettable moments.
They swam with dolphins and celebrated Halloween at sea. The experience became even more meaningful when her father, Jim, joined the family after being deployed overseas.

“The way the crew treated us, we felt like the only people in their orbit,” Jim raved. “The trip was magical in every way and it’s a memory our entire family will always cherish.”
That experience shaped their future. Both Lily and Jim became deeply involved with Make-A-Wish, giving back as volunteers and wish-granters.

They also took on new adventures, becoming Cast Members at Disneyland. Today, Jim works in Security Special Services at Disneyland Resort, while Lily brings magic to guests through Imagination Campus.
And great news! Her health has also improved, and she is now seven years seizure-free.
