Disney’s Week of Wishes is ending soon, but Disneyland Resort continues to deliver unforgettable moments.
One recent visit during Disney’s Week of Wishes created a lifelong memory for one young Marvel fan, and it is truly special.
Meet Coen!
For 9-year-old Make-A-Wish kid Coen, the day was filled with excitement, emotion, and a dream come true.
During a special event at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Coen met Anthony Mackie, the actor behind his favorite hero, Captain America (Sam Wilson).
“It felt crazy,” Coen said, still beaming. “I was so excited.”
The surprise appearance turned into a powerful moment as Mackie handed out Super Hero action figures, creating a meaningful experience for Coen and his family.
Coen’s connection to these characters is special! At home, he spends time creating adventures with his collection of action figures, including multiple versions of Captain America and Falcon.
The day continued at Disneyland Resort, where Coen rode Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Even cooler- he rode with Mackie.
Coen shared that the up-and-down moments were still his favorite.
More unforgettable experiences followed inside Avengers Campus, where Coen met Iron Man and enjoyed a classic Disney churro.
The ultimate highlight came when he received his own Captain America shield, a symbol of courage and strength.
