Disneyland Paris Bestows the Grand Hôpital de l’Est Francilien With New Magic
In just the latest example of The Walt Disney Company giving back, the pediatric wards at Grand Hôpital de l’Est Francilien have been transformed with new decorations from Disneyland Paris.
Since April 23, the hospital’s pediatric emergency unit has featured Disney-themed wall decor. Now, Natacha Rafalski and hospital leadership have unveiled an expanded set of installations designed to further enhance the space.

“This initiative between GHEF and Disneyland Paris brings much more than simple decoration—it transforms the hospital experience for children,” said Ms. Muller, deputy general director of the GHEF.

“By creating a more playful and reassuring environment, these Disney-inspired characters and stories help reduce the anxiety associated with medical care and contribute to a more positive experience of hospitalization, both for young patients and their families.”
The New Decor Was Designed by Imagineering
The project was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering to bring a touch of magic to what can often be a difficult environment.

The new decor features a variety of Disney characters and stories displayed throughout the hospital, including corridor walls, windows, and medical examination rooms.
To bring the spaces to life, teams from Disneyland Paris worked closely with hospital staff to ensure the designs were tailored to children’s needs. Transparent materials were even used on glass surfaces to allow natural light to pass through.

The goal is simple: to create a more comforting and engaging environment for young patients.
The Disney Team of Heroes App
In addition, patients can download the Disney Team of Heroes app, which allows them to interact with the decor. Using a smartphone or tablet, children can bring characters from Zootopia, Cars, Finding Nemo, and more to life.

The updated pediatric ward marks another milestone in Disneyland Paris’s long-standing commitment to supporting hospitalized children. Since 1991, more than 40,000 children have received surprise visits from Disney characters.
