Opening Timeline Revealed For Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Walt Disney World guests will have a new resort to explore when Disney Lakeshore Lodge opens next summer.

Nestled along the shores of Bay Lake, the new resort is inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors and will celebrate nature’s beauty through Disney storytelling.

When the new Bay Lake resort was initially announced in 2018, the hotel was to be named Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.

While construction on the new lodging began in 2019, it came to a grinding halt with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For years, the project lay dormant.

Then, in 2024, Disney officially revived plans for the resort, which was simply renamed Disney Lakeshore Lodge.

Located on the former site of River Country, Lakeshore Lodge will place guests close to the magic while featuring a design that pays tribute to decades of Disney stories rooted in nature.

At the resort, guests will be immersed in natural light and surrounded by views of local flora and fauna.

Lakeshore Lodge will also offer scenic views of Bay Lake during the day and nighttime views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

When complete, the resort will feature 967 rooms, ranging from studios to larger suites.
