See the Real-World Inspiration Behind World of Frozen in Disneyland Paris
Disney Adventure World received an infusion of new magic last month when World of Frozen officially opened.
Transporting guests to Arendelle, World of Frozen allows visitors to explore one of the most iconic settings in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ history.

Inside the land, guests can visit Elsa’s Ice Palace, dine at the Nordic Crowns Tavern, experience Frozen Ever After, and even meet Olaf as he roams the area.

While Walt Disney Imagineering drew heavily from the Frozen franchise when designing the land, the team also looked to real-world locations for inspiration.
How Norway Inspired the World of Frozen’s Look
In a recent social media video, Imagineering revealed several real-world influences behind World of Frozen’s design.

Architectural elements such as colorful buildings, steeply pitched roofs, and half-timbered beams were inspired by traditional Norwegian design.
In particular, some of the land’s buildings were modeled after structures found in the city of Bergen.
Inside the Nordic Crowns Tavern, the grand staircase draws inspiration from the interior of the Kviknes Hotel, once one of the largest wooden buildings in Norway.

Throughout the land, decorative artwork blends traditional rosemaling, a Norwegian folk art style featuring floral patterns, with a touch of Disney storytelling.
