MickeyBlog News for April 19th, 2026
In a span of an hour, Walt Disney World loaded up next month AND 2027.
We’ve got a ton to cover, so let’s get right to it. Here’s this week’s MickeyBlog News.
Putting the Rock in Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

During the 2020s, Disney has taken its collaborations to an entirely different level.
Still, I don’t think any of us expected the company to work with Danny Trejo, Kelly Clarkson, and Def Leppard on the same project.

Somehow, Disney is doing exactly that with its surprise announcement about The Muppets.
We already knew that Jim Henson’s beloved puppets would take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

What we hadn’t realized is that The Muppets are bringing plenty of friends along for the ride.
With the benefit of hindsight, we really should have guessed that, though.

After all, The Muppets have always hosted celebrity guests in their movies and television shows.
In February, Sabrina Carpenter appeared on The Muppets’ Disney+ special.

At that moment, we should have recognized that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets would do something similar.
And my goodness, are they ever! The Muppets just announced the ride’s soundtrack. Here it is:

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets
- Song 2 – The Electric Mayhem
- Born To Be Wild – The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
- Love Rollercoaster – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
- Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
- Walking on Sunshine – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson
This seems like a good time to mention that Def Leppard is my all-time favorite music act.

The one thing I never expected from the band was an appearance on a Disney ride, yet here we are.
Joe Elliott and Phil Collen even appeared in this adorable Instagram clip for the ride.

To a larger point, you can impress your friends with Disney trivia by asking this question:
“What do Camilla the Chicken, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Questlove have in common?”

The answer is somehow that they all sing on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
What a world we live in. Oh, and I’m not done yet. I haven’t even mentioned the cameos.

Throughout the ride experience, you’ll notice a few familiar faces.
The Muppets have brought along a few of their friends, a group consisting of:

- Awkwafina
- Danny Trejo
- Darren Criss
- John Stamos
- Neil Patrick Harris
- Travis Barker
- Yvette Nicole Brown
- Wayne Brady
- “Weird Al” Yankovic
Yes, Danny Trejo, the star of the uber-violent Machete franchise, is now in a Disney ride. I still haven’t even mentioned the best part, which is the opening date.
The gap between Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and its replacement will be less than three months.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will debut on May 26th.
Happily, Cast Members, Disney Vacation Club members, and annual passholders will get sneak previews.

I’ll write about the May offerings in detail in a standalone article, but it’s shaping up to be an epic month at Disney World.
Coming in 2027
Remarkably, Disney didn’t stop with just its massive amount of May news.
Disney World went ahead and announced its 2027 theme park ticket prices and offers.

Disney
MickeyBlog covered this story exhaustively on Thursday, highlighting one particular price increase.
Before I get into specifics, I want to emphasize that these packages are available to book now.

Disney went ahead and made the offers live upon the announcement, which is good news for you.
Please speak to a MickeyTravels agent to learn the best deal available for you and yours.

There are also a few things you need to know, starting with some Disney Dining Plan (DDP) intel.
Disney is bringing back the Deluxe Dining Plan for 2027! Yup, Disney is just full of surprises this week.
About the 2027 Dining Plans

Photo: Disney
Let’s just go ahead and talk through all the dining plan information we just learned.
Disney will offer three versions of the DDP this year, including the two available for 2026.

Photo: Disney
The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan (QSDP) consists of the following:
- Two Quick-Service Meals Per Day
- One Snack/Non-Alcoholic Drink Per Day
- One Resort Refillable Drink Mug for Your Stay Plus Free Refills

What’s included in a Quick Service meal, you may wonder? You receive the following:
- One entrée
- One nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests 21 and older)

Photo: Disney
This applies for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. So, it’s the same for all your meals.
The cost of this plan is $62.78 per adult and $25.82 per child per night in 2027.

Remember that Disney classifies children as ages three through nine.
For 2027, Disney has changed the name of the DDP to the Table-Service Dining Plan. It includes:
- One Quick-Service Meal Per Day
- One Table-Service Meal Per Day
- One Snack/Non-Alcoholic Drink Per Day
- One Resort Refillable Drink Mug for Your Stay Plus Free Refills

Photo: Disney
For brunch, lunch, and dinner, the Table-Service entitlement includes:
- One entrée
- One dessert
- One nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage, for Guests 21 and older)

Note that you do not get a dessert when you use a Table-Service entitlement at breakfast.
The cost for the Table-Service Dining Plan is $99.87 per adult and $31.94 per child.

Finally, we have my favorite from 2000-2019, the Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan.
Returning for 2026, this plan includes the following:
- Two Table-Service Meals Per Day
- One Quick-Service Meal Per Day
- One Snack/Non-Alcoholic Drink Per Day
- One Resort Refillable Drink Mug for Your Stay Plus Free Refills

Photo: Disney
The Table-Service entitlements work the same with this plan.
Adults will pay $163.01 per night, while children cost $46.85 per night.
Final Thoughts

I’m going to skip the usual Disney miscellaneous stories this week since we have such huge stories.
So, what I want to point out is that the deluxe version of the DDP looks a bit different.

Photo: Getty
Historically, guests received three Table-Service entitlements per day. Now, it’s two plus a Quick Service one.
There’s also a larger variance with the DDP pricing than there had been during the 2010s.

The deluxe version literally costs $100 more per adult per night than the Quick-Service one.
I used to swear by the Deluxe Dining Plan, but now I’ll need to do some math before deciding.

Check back at MickeyBlog in a few days for my 2027 Disney Dining Plan Guide. It’ll do the math for you.
Alternatively, just skip the middleman and speak with a MickeyTravels agent. They know more about this stuff than I ever could.
