Walt Disney Imagineering Files NINE New Permits For Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the construction of Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new land will replace DinoLand U.S.A. and transport guests to Pueblo Esperanza, where they will find attractions inspired by Indiana Jones and Encanto.

With the closure of DinoLand earlier this year, construction on Tropical Americas has officially ramped up.
The last time we checked in, the Encanto-themed attraction had reached a major milestone.

Now, we have another update to share.
Nine New Permits Have Been Filed
As work continues, Walt Disney Imagineering has filed nine new permits related to the project.
According to the documents, each permit covers electrical work and assigns the job to Pro Audio Video, Inc., a contractor that frequently works with Disney.

The permits apply to the following locations:
- 504 and 610 Dinoland Drive, the future home of the Encanto attraction
- 580 Dinoland Drive, a backstage building
- 590 Dinoland Drive, formerly Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures
- 594 Dinoland Drive, formerly the Donald Duck meet-and-greet location
- 671 Dinoland Drive, the former entrance to The Boneyard
- 672 Dinoland Drive, formerly Dino-Bite Snacks and its dining area
- 501 Restaurantosaurus Road, formerly DINOSAUR
- 601 Restaurantosaurus Road, formerly Restaurantosaurus
While it remains unclear exactly what changes are planned for each location, the number of permits filed makes it clear that construction on Tropical Americas is accelerating.
