Fans of nostalgia and this iconic TV show won’t be surprised! The return of Malcolm in the Middle is off to a strong start. 

The new limited series, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, reached 8.1 million views worldwide in its first three days, making it the top season premiere across Disney+ and Hulu in 2026 so far.

Disney has recently revived a few past shows, including Scrubs, that are really resonating with fans, and Malcolm in the Middle is adding to the list.

The four-episode revival dropped on April 10 and quickly gained traction and fans’ attention!

In Latin America, it became the second-biggest Disney+ season premiere ever, behind Loki Season 1, with 3.6 million views.

The launch also boosted interest in the original series.

Viewing jumped by 18 million hours in one week. This is a 107 percent increase. 

Disney also reported over 17 million views and nearly 19 million impressions from social and YouTube content tied to the release.

The Reboot

The revival follows Malcolm almost 20 years after the original series ended. Malcolm now lives a happy life with his daughter, Leah, and girlfriend, Tristan, having distanced himself from his family.  

However, he is pulled back into family life after years away and forced to bring them into the family’s chaos when his parents, Hal and Lois, demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
