This ‘Ratatouille’-Themed Engagement Party Is Every Disney Fan’s Dream
How fun is this? A Disney-loving couple just shared their classic engagement party…but with a fun Disney twist.
Brittany Maturan and Bryan Rubio hosted a Ratatouille-themed engagement party where every detail reflected the couple’s love for Disney.
A Disney Theme

“We actually didn’t really want to tell anyone that our theme was ‘Ratatouille’ because we didn’t want to ruin the surprise, so when our family and friends saw everything in person, they were obsessed, but truly didn’t expect anything less,” Maturan tells PEOPLE.
The outdoor setup captured the feel of a Parisian. Guests enjoyed a bistro with red checkered tablecloths, baguettes on cutting boards, candles, and tomato cans filled with hydrangeas. Even the wine glasses were filled with twinkling lights.

The party included playful nods to Remy throughout. Guests enjoyed custom cookies featuring phrases like “Anyone Can Cook!” There was also a themed bar where the Ratatouille logo was cleverly changed to “Rubio.”
Signature drinks included the “Remy-Rita,” “Ego-Fashioned,” “Linguini’s Lemonade,” and “Le Petit Sour.”
“We also have Disneyland Paris on our bucket list for our next trip, so we used inspiration from the ‘Ratatouille’ restaurant there, which is Bistrot Chez Rémy, and you can see that logo on our custom cups and napkins,” Maturan says.

Food played a major role in bringing the theme to life.
“We wanted our guests to feel immersed in the theme, so we included a giant charcuterie board (CharcuterBri), live pizza chefs making unlimited pizzas (La Pizzeria), and, of course, a dessert spread made up of custom hand-drawn cookies (Sugar Cloud), and other Paris-inspired desserts. Our guests were so obsessed with the presentation of the cookies and the charcuterie layout they didn’t want to eat them!”
The idea actually came from a quiet night at home.

“When we started thinking of what we wanted our engagement party to look like, we really wanted to focus on us as a couple and how we could celebrate our relationship. The typical themes we were seeing on Pinterest or TikTok just didn’t scream ‘Brittany and Bryan,’ and didn’t seem authentic to us and our relationship. We were torn because we’ve always been known as the ‘Disney couple’ to our family and friends, but didn’t want something too Disney.”
After about six weeks of planning, the vision came together.

“I used Canva to make mock-ups of every little detail, and then my mom made every vision come to life,” Maturan says.
From the themed food to the Parisian decor, this celebration showed how Disney fun helps create a one-of-a-kind event.
