PHOTOS: Disney Celebrates the Reopening of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
After months of waiting, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has officially reopened at Magic Kingdom, once again giving fans the opportunity to join up with Star Command and do battle with the Evil Emperor Zurg.
If you have been following along over the past several months, you know that Space Ranger Spin closed last August for an extensive refurbishment.
During the downtime, the attraction received a variety of upgrades, including digital targets, handheld blasters, always-on lasers, and enhanced ride vehicles.
The Attraction Reopened This Morning
Over the past couple of weeks, we have reported live from Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, bringing you updates as we previewed the attraction and experienced it again during its soft opening.
Needless to say, we are thrilled that the attraction has officially reopened. In fact, we headed straight to Tomorrowland this morning to ride again!
As it turns out, we are not the only ones celebrating.
The Space Ranger Spin Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
To commemorate the reopening of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Magic Kingdom held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the upgraded attraction this morning.

As you can see, Disney executives, Cast Members, and the Walt Disney World Ambassadors were on hand for the festivities.

Jeff Vahle Takes a Spin on the Upgraded Attraction
In addition to attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Jeff Vahle took a spin on the attraction and celebrated its return.
