All the Reasons to Visit Disneyland This Spring and Summer
The Happiest Place on Earth recently turned 70 years old.
To commemorate the event, Disneyland threw itself a party, one that’s still happening today!

That’s just one of many reasons why Disneyland Resort is the place to be over the next few months.
Here are all the reasons to visit Disneyland this spring and summer.
Bluey’s Best Day Ever!
Have you seen the crowds at Disneyland Park lately?
Well, you can follow them straight to Fantasyland Theatre to understand why they’re there.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever– Photo: Disney
Bluey has made her triumphant debut, and fans are flocking to see her and her family!
Bluey’s Best Day Ever! has quickly become one of the most popular activities at the park.

Families can sing, dance, and play with Bluey and Bingo. For parents of small children, this is pure joy.
Your kids will never forget the time they met Bluey, and you’ll be a hero in their eyes for taking them.
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
As we speak, Disney California Adventure is hosting arguably its most popular event.
The Food & Wine Festival started in early March and runs through April 27th.

2026 DCA Food & Wine Festival: Musubi Fried Rice by DVC – Golden Dreams
So, you still have about three weeks to enjoy the tastiest treats in California.
Disneyland After Dark
This seminal after-hours event grows more popular each year.
The nicest compliment I can give it is that tickets sell out almost the instant they go on sale.

Disneyland enthusiasts spend the entire year fantasizing about the next time they can do this.
Thankfully, we’re at that wonderful time when events are being held several times a month.

In April, guests can attend Disney Channel Nite, which I wrote about two years ago.
I consider this event one of Disney’s best ideas of the past decade.

Photo: Disney
Should you visit late this month or in early May, you can attend Star Wars Nite instead.
And yes, May the 4th IS a Star Wars Nite date in 2026!

Then, during Pride Month, Disney hosts the ever-popular Pride Nite.
This event was such a celebrity event last year that even the Governor of California attended.

So, you have three different Disneyland After Dark options this spring and summer!
You’ll love all of them, and each is phenomenal in its own way.
Disneyland 70
Disneyland is actually approaching its 71st birthday on July 17th.
We’re still talking about Disneyland 70 because Disney parties usually last at least a year.

Photo: Disney
At The Happiest Place on Earth, you can still celebrate its milestone anniversary through August 9th.
Throughout this party, Disneyland is hosting limited-time activities that will go away in August.

Photo: Disney
So, you have only a few more months to experience them before they go away forever.
I’ll discuss a few of them later in this article.
Galaxy’s Edge – The New Eras
When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge debuted in 2019, Imagineers honored the theming.
Disney set all the characters in a specific timeline in Star Wars history.

Photo: Disney
For this reason, we only interact with characters like Rey, Chewbacca, and Kylo Ren.
That’s about to change, though. At the end of April, Disneyland will drop the timelines.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
At that point, all Star Wars characters will be in play for character interactions.
With the restrictions gone, you never know who you may meet at Galaxy’s Edge.

Luke Skywalker and R2-D2
Anyone from Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader to Queen Amidala is a possibility.
So, Star Wars fans have a chance to encounter many of their favorites as of April 29th!

Let’s just say that the end of April and start of May are a really good time for Star Wars fans to visit Disneyland.
Hyperspace Mountain/Season of the Force
As proof, I’ll toss in the fact that Season of the Force is ongoing as we speak.
This event also lasts into Early May, and it comes with an additional benefit.

Disney has once given Space Mountain its Star Wars overlay.
So, you can ride Hyperspace Mountain for a limited time as well.

Hyperspace Mountain
I’ve just given Star Wars fans several reasons why you need to go to Disneyland this spring.
Inexpensive Tickets for Children
Disney theme parks are places where families join together to make memories that will last a lifetime.
This summer, Disney is leaning into this idea by offering discount tickets for children.

CenTOONial Park
Kids can visit Disneyland for just $50 this summer, and that’s not all!
You can buy two- and three-day tickets for $50 per day, too. So, it’s not a one-day-only deal.

Sleeping Beauty Castle
This summer, Disneyland vacations are more affordable than at any point in recent memory.
That’s remarkable since Disneyland 70 is ongoing the whole time.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – the Baby Yoda Mission
On May 22nd, The Mandalorian & Grogu debuts in theaters.
Disney wants to make that date even better for its fans, so it’s plussing a ride.

Photo: Star Wars
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will introduce an entirely new mission, albeit one with familiar faces.
Baby Yoda and his protector, The Mandalorian, will co-star on this new quest.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Unlike some of the other Star Wars experiences we’re discussing today, this one is permanent!
So, the cutest child in the galaxy will soon find a home at Galaxy’s Edge.
Paint the Night Parade
Have you ever watched the Paint the Night Parade? Here, take a look:
This is a Disneyland classic that we first saw more than a decade ago.

Paint the Night Parade
Since then, Disney has intermittently hosted the parade, swapping it out with other nighttime festivities.
We hadn’t seen this show at Disneyland Resort since 2018, and once it leaves, that’s it for a while.

Paint the Night Parade
So, you have from now through August 9th to enjoy one of Disney’s most impressive shows.
Soarin’ Across America
Disney is currently plussing another ride other than Smugglers Run.
We all love Soarin’ Around the World, although Disney California Adventure fans prefer its predecessor.

Soarin’ Over California
As we speak, Soarin’ Over California is available for a few more weeks, giving you a brief window to visit.
After that, Disney will introduce yet another Soarin’ ride just before America’s 250th birthday.

Photo: Disney
Soarin’ Across America is just what it sounds like, a patriotic version of Soarin’.
This ride will sweep guests into the air and fly them over breathtaking American landmarks.

Photo: Disney
So, guests visiting Soarin’ over the next few months have a chance to do something unprecedented.
You can experience all three versions of Soarin’ this spring and summer!
Wondrous Journeys
One of Disney’s newest fireworks shows is also currently on display at Disneyland Park.
Wondrous Journeys opened in January 2023 but then closed for a while.

Wondrous Journeys
Disney is currently offering this nighttime presentation as part of Disneyland 70.
You can watch a recent recording of the show here:
As you can see, the castle fireworks projections are stunning. This one’s a showstopper.
Wondrous Journeys is also the perfect way to cap off a perfect day at Disneyland.
World of Color Happiness!
The other Disneyland 70 nighttime presentation is the latest version of World of Color.
Obviously, Disney California Adventure has hosted several of them over the years.

Photo: Disney
What I love about World of Color Happiness! is that it provides exactly what it states.
This show combines aquatic effects and digital projections to create stunning visuals.
For fans of Disney music and characters, this one’s a tour de force presentation.
The Start of Halloween Season
Summer doesn’t end until September, yet Halloween always arrives early at Disneyland.
Disney has already confirmed the start date for this year’s Halloween season.

Haunted Mansion Holiday
The festivities begin on August 21st and last through November 2nd for Coco’s Day of the Dead experience.
Friends, we’re only four and a half months away from Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party!
