Disneyland Is Banning Stanley Cups From Certain Rides After an Increase in “Incident-Related” Breakdowns
Over the years, Disneyland Resort has seen plenty of travel fads come and go. From GoPros to selfie sticks, The Happiest Place on Earth has had to implement new rules to ensure operations continue smoothly.
Needless to say, Disneyland has had to remain flexible to make sure all guests have a magical experience.
With that in mind, after noticing a trend of increased ride shutdowns, Disneyland is cracking down on Stanley cups.

If you are a longtime Disney Parks visitor, you know how important it is to stay hydrated.
Stanley Cups Have Become Increasingly Popular
Increasingly, guests are bringing their Stanley cups to keep water on hand throughout the day.

While Stanley cups are both popular and convenient, they have also contributed to an increase in ride shutdowns, as guests have been losing them on attractions.
Disneyland’s Operational Change
According to a report by Mickey Visit (via the New York Post), “incident-related” shutdowns have recently increased from 10% to 13%.

In response, Disneyland has instructed Cast Members to ensure that guests properly stow their cups before rides begin.
Additionally, the resort has started installing shelves at attraction loading areas where guests can leave their drinkware.
