Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge just welcomed some adorable new arrivals, and they are already stealing hearts, including ours.
A group of red river hog piglets was recently born backstage, giving Disney fans a first look at one of the resort’s newest animal families.

The piglets were shared by Dr. Mark Penning, Disney’s Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment, just this morning.
The social media posts show the tiny newborns snuggled together and bonding closely with their mother. There are three piglets, each with the signature striped pattern that helps them stay camouflaged in the wild.

Red river hogs are native to West and Central Africa and are known for their striking reddish coats and unique facial markings. These piglets will spend their first weeks backstage, where they can safely grow stronger while staying close to mom.
Guests hoping to see them will need a little patience. Once the piglets are ready, they are expected to join the rest of the herd on the savanna. If you are lucky enough to be staying at the resort this year, you will be able to spot them roaming and exploring.
