PHOTOS: Construction of Tropical Americas Continues at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
by Justin Hermes · April 2, 2026
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the construction of Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new land will replace DinoLand U.S.A. and transport guests to Pueblo Esperanza, where they will find new attractions inspired by Indiana Jones and Encanto.

With the closure of DinoLand earlier this year, construction on Tropical Americas has officially kicked into high gear.
The last time we checked in, the Encanto attraction had reached a major milestone.

Now, we are back with another update.
The Current State of Tropical Americas
When entering the former DinoLand U.S.A. today, we could see that the Encanto attraction continues to come together.

The show building now rises high above the construction walls and is clearly taking shape.

A look at the current state of the Tropical Americas construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Here is another look.

The structure is massive.

It is already clear that this will be a major addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Elsewhere in DinoLand, the transformation of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama into Tropical Americas is also progressing.

The Dinosaur Treasures building is still standing, though it remains to be seen how it will be incorporated into the new land.

All in all, construction is moving along quickly.
I, for one, can’t wait for the new land to open.
As always, be sure to check back with MickeyBlog. We will continue to update you on all the news coming out of Walt Disney World.
