‘Paradise’ Star Krys Marshall Has Joined the Cast of ‘Toy Story 5’
Thirty-one years after audiences were first introduced to Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and the rest of Andy’s toys, the gang will return to theaters this summer for Toy Story 5.
“The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time around it’s Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head-to-head with an all-new threat to playtime,” the film’s synopsis reads.

Needless to say, fans are excited.
New and Returning Characters
While Toy Story 5 will feature plenty of familiar faces, including Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Rex, and Mr. Potato Head, the film will also introduce new characters to the franchise.
Previously, we brought you the news that Greta Lee will voice Lilypad, the film’s antagonist. Other new characters include Conan O’Brien’s Smarty Pants and Craig Robinson’s Atlas.

Now, we can add another name to the star-studded cast.
Krys Marshall Has Joined the Cast

At this time, it is unclear exactly which character Marshall will be playing. However, it is expected that she will voice a parent concerned about her child’s dependence on technology.

Marshall previously met Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton while filming For All Mankind. When she heard about the upcoming Pixar film, she knew she had to be part of it.

“We got on like a house on fire. I adore Andrew,” Marshall said in an interview. “And since working with him on For All Mankind, I had a kid. So now I’m watching kid content. When I heard at D23 that they were bringing back Toy Story 5 and that Andrew would be the director, I sent him an email saying, ‘I hope you’re well. Since I saw you last, I had a kid, and I would just love to be a part of the Toy Story universe.’ It was the ultimate try-hard email, embarrassingly uncool to just ask for a job. I didn’t hear anything for nine months, and then out of the blue, I got an email saying, ‘You have an offer for Toy Story 5.’”
A Memorable First Day
On the Toy Story 5 set, Stanton even gave Marshall a crash course in the franchise’s history.

“My first day of work, Andrew showed me a video clip from nearly 30 years ago of his first session with Tom Hanks recording Woody,” she recalled. “I grew up watching the Toy Story movies as a little kid and being completely enamored with the characters. To now have a part in it and be part of that childhood history is just too cool.”
