Pixar has reason to jump for joy, as Hoppers once again topped the box office last weekend.
After the disappointing release of Elio, Pixar returned to theaters earlier this month with another original film.
Hoppers tells the story of Mabel, a young girl who transfers her mind into a robotic beaver, giving her the ability to communicate with the animal kingdom.

“What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film ‘Hoppers,’ scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals,” the film’s synopsis reads.
‘Hoppers’ Delivered a Strong Debut
After earning strong reviews from critics, Hoppers delivered an $88 million global opening, the best for a Pixar original film since Coco in 2017.

Following Hoppers’ strong debut, the next big question was how the film would hold up.

Another Successful Weekend
Hoppers delivered a stellar second weekend in theaters, adding another $60 million to its global cume.

Breaking that number down, Hoppers earned another $28.5 million domestically (a -37% hold) and $31.5 million internationally (a -17% hold).
Overseas, the big winner was Japan, where Hoppers opened to $2.4 million, the second-best animated film debut in the country since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, Hoppers had record openings in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Vietnam.
Buoyed by a strong start at the box office and glowing critical reviews, Hoppers now seems poised for an extended run in theaters.
