Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort Celebrates 30 Years of Magic, Memories, and Southern Hospitality
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that 2026 is a big year for Disney anniversaries.
As the Disneyland 70 Celebration continues to roll on in California, Shanghai Disney is getting ready to kick off its 10th anniversary celebration.
Additionally, other major milestones, such as High School Musical‘s 20th anniversary, Monsters, Inc.‘s 25th anniversary, and Moana‘s 10th anniversary, are taking place this year.

Now, however, I want to highlight a milestone that has flown under the radar.
30 Years of Disney’s Hilton Head Resort
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is officially celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, marking a major milestone for the Disney Vacation Club.

For those who don’t know, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is located on the private Longview Island in South Carolina.
The resort is designed to feel like a saltwater fishing lodge on an oceanfront hideaway.

At the resort, guests can rent bikes, walk nature trails, or enjoy some fun in the sun on the beach along 12 miles of Atlantic coastline.

While things move a bit slower at Hilton Head, there is plenty of Disney magic. From magical activities to Disney snacks and character sightings, enchantment hides around every corner.

The Real Disney Magic
The real magic of Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, however, comes from the Cast Members.

Three of the resort’s employees, Evelyn, Alicia, and Melissa, have been with Disney’s Hilton Head since it opened in 1996.
Over the past thirty years, the trio has helped transform the resort into a home away from home for generations of guests.

“When they come through the gate and we say, ‘Welcome home,’ they actually feel like they’re at home and not on vacation,” Evelyn said.
For Rooms Coordinator Alicia, who was raised nearby on St. Helena Island, Disney’s Hilton Head has been an extension of her childhood home.

“It’s literally my home away from home,” she explains. “These cast members are like my family. Even some of the guests that come year after year, they’re family too.”
Finally, when asked what sets Hilton Head apart, Housekeeping Coordinator Melissa pointed to the resort’s atmosphere.

“We’re laid back. We are where people vacation to truly relax and get rest.”
