Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Reopening Date Has Been REVEALED
In just a few weeks, guests will once again be able to set out on a galactic adventure to stop the evil Emperor Zurg when Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin officially reopens.
As a quick recap, the beloved Tomorrowland attraction closed last August for its first major upgrade in 27 years.
NEW Sign Installation – Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
When Space Ranger Spin reopens, guests can expect updated Star Cruisers, enhanced blasters that can be removed from their holsters, and always-on lasers.
Additionally, the attraction will debut new lighting, sound effects, and haptics to help guests see where they are aiming.
The Star Cruisers themselves are also being updated with a new look.
Introducing Buddy
Finally, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is also getting a new scene and a brand-new character!
In 2026, Guests can look forward to exciting updates coming to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom. This iconic Tomorrowland attraction will feature a brand-new show scene, upgraded ride vehicles, and enhanced gameplay for an out-of-this-world adventure.
Before riders set out to do battle with the Evil Emperor Zurg, they will meet Buddy, a friendly robot who works for Star Command.
“Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is almost back and will be power-packed with more fun at Magic Kingdom park! Star Command’s top minds have added a series of enhancements, including handheld blasters for more freedom of movement, additional interactive targets, scores that go lightyears beyond what you can imagine, and Buddy—our newest crew member,” the description reads.

When Will the Attraction Reopen?
Today, Disney finally announced that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will officially reopen on April 8, ahead of Cool Kids’ Summer.
