Disneyland President Thomas Mazloum Will Reportedly Be the Next Chairman of Disney Experiences
by Justin Hermes · March 9, 2026
One of the most closely watched succession sagas in Hollywood history came to a close last week when Disney announced that Josh D’Amaro will succeed Bob Iger as the company’s next CEO.
D’Amaro emerged from an extensive search process that reportedly included more than 100 internal and external candidates.
In the end, however, the competition narrowed to just two finalists: Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Disney Entertainment Co-Chair Dana Walden.

Ultimately, Disney selected D’Amaro for the role. Walden, for her part, will remain with the company as its new President and Chief Creative Officer.
Who Will Succeed D’Amaro at Disney Experiences
While Disney’s decision to have D’Amaro succeed Iger answered one of the biggest questions in recent Disney memory, it also meant that the company needed to find its next Disney Experiences chairman.

In the aftermath of D’Amaro’s elevation, numerous names have been bandied about as possible successors, including Thomas Mazloum, Jeff Vahle, Natacha Rafalski, and Joe Schott.

Now, it sounds like Disney has made its decision.
Thomas Mazloum Has Been Chosen
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Disney is close to naming Thomas Mazloum, the current president of Disneyland Resort, as the next Disney Experiences chairman.

Mazloum initially joined Disney in 1998 as hotel director for Disney Cruise Line.
Over the next three decades, he continued to climb the corporate hierarchy, serving as general manager of food & beverage and special events at EPCOT, senior vice president of operations at Walt Disney World, and, after a brief departure from the company, president of Disney Signature Experiences.

In 2025, Mazloum was named president of Disneyland Resort, replacing Ken Potrock. His tenure coincided with The Happiest Place on Earth’s 70th anniversary, which has been a triumph.
In Mazloum, Disney has found an Experiences chairman who, like D’Amaro before him, has held numerous positions throughout the division.

Notably, however, Mazloum does not have extensive experience with Walt Disney Imagineering. Instead, his expertise is in large-scale logistics, guest flow, operational efficiency, and hospitality.

It should be noted that Disney has yet to officially name Mazloum as the next Disney Experiences chairman, though according to the Bloomberg report, an announcement could come as early as this week.
