“What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film ‘Hoppers,’ scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals,” the film’s synopsis reads.

At $88 million, Hoppers has now given Pixar its best opening for an original film since 2017’s Coco.
After disappointing box office starts for Onward, Elemental, and Elio, the studio can breathe a sigh of relief.

With a sterling 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating and no real competition from other family films, Hoppers should have some room to run at the box office.

It will be fascinating to see whether the film can maintain its momentum.
