Pixar’s ‘Hoppers’ Is Heading Towards an $88 Million Opening
After the disappointing release of Elio, Pixar is returning to theaters this weekend with the highly anticipated Hoppers.
The latest Pixar original tells the story of Mabel, a young girl who transfers her mind into a robotic beaver, giving her the ability to communicate with the animal kingdom.

“What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film Hoppers, scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals,” the film’s synopsis reads.
The Forecast For ‘Hoppers’
With just two days to go until Hoppers hits theaters, we can now report that the film is heading toward an $88 million global opening.

That number would give Pixar its biggest opening for an original film since 2017’s Coco!

Breaking the global cume down, Hoppers is looking at a $36–$38 million domestic opening and between $45 and $50 million overseas.
A Big Test For Pixar
With a sterling 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating and no real competition from other family films, Hoppers should have some room to run at the box office.

After the disappointing debut of Elemental and the disastrous box office results delivered by Elio, Pixar could use an original hit.
In a box office that has increasingly tilted towards sequels, Hoppers may be the original animated film that eventually cuts through.

So far, everything is looking promising for the film. The big test, however, will be how the film holds up.
Hoppers will hit theaters on March 6.
