Limited-Edition Moana and Simea Doll Celebrates Sisterhood and Disney Storytelling
Moana is the ultimate Disney heroine! Her bravery, heart, and connection to her heritage made her an unforgettable fan-fave.
When her story continued in Moana 2, fans met her younger sister Simea, and now, their bond takes center stage in a limited-edition doll set.

These new dolls are stunning, and only 2,700 of these collectible sets have been created. The dolls are sold exclusively on DisneyStore.com.
Design Manager, Dolls & Souvenirs J. Fuchs shared insight into the creative process.
“For the modern era characters, we’re able to get digital models directly from the studios, so the doll you’re seeing is made directly from what you see on screen,” said J.
“It’s also much easier to learn about the influences and cultural context surrounding the characters, as we have access to the filmmakers and their references.”
Cultural detail and authenticity remain a priority. Every element has been thoroughly thought of and help define this character’s identity.
“Since the designs were carefully crafted by the filmmakers, we do our best to capture all the details we possibly can, at this scale,” J explained.
“We used a woven fabric to recreate the tapa cloth of Moana’s skirt, with multi-colored embroidery, natural woven trims, and threads representing the grass skirt.”
“The trim on her bodice is meant to represent the tiny feathers her people used as an embellishment, and her fabric leaf crown captures the variegated look of Ti leaves.”
J also emphasized the importance of this set, which is intended to capture Moana and Simea at the end of Moana 2, once Moana has returned from her adventures.
“We wanted them side by side as if looking at the ocean, with Moana recounting her tales and Simea excited for the day she gets to have her own. We also included the little starfish Simea gives Moana inside her necklace, as a reminder that they’re always in each other’s hearts.”

The dolls come with display stands for collectors and are also fully poseable. The set launches March 12 at 8 a.m. PST.
