Space 220 at EPCOT: Overhyped or Out of This World?
There’s something undeniably exciting about dining 220 miles above Earth.

Space 220
From the moment guests step into the “space elevator” at EPCOT, Space 220 Restaurant promises an immersive, out-of-this-world experience unlike anything else at Walt Disney World.

The question, however, isn’t whether it’s impressive; it’s whether it’s worth it!
With prix-fixe pricing, stunning space views, and a menu that aims for upscale American cuisine, Space 220 has quickly become one of the most talked-about reservations in EPCOT.

Some guests call it a must-do experience. Others leave wondering if they paid more for the atmosphere than the food.
So let’s break it down (the cost, the menu, the experience, and who this restaurant is really for) to answer the big question: Is Space 220 actually worth it?

The Theme & Atmosphere
If there’s one thing Space 220 Restaurant absolutely nails, it’s the theme.
Guests begin their experience in a sleek space station lobby before boarding a “space elevator” that simulates traveling 220 miles above Earth.

As EPCOT shrinks below, the illusion is surprisingly convincing, especially for first-time visitors.
It’s one of those Disney moments where the transition from theme park to story feels seamless.

Once inside, the main dining room overlooks massive “windows” into space, where astronauts float by and Earth slowly rotates in the distance.

Space220 Windows – Immersive
The lighting is moody, futuristic, and intentionally removed from the bustle of the park. It truly feels like you’ve stepped into another world.
If immersion is high on your priority list, Space 220 delivers.

The Food: Does It Live Up to the Hype?
Let’s talk about what really matters…the food!

Appetizer – Space 220
After multiple visits to Space 220 Restaurant and trying a wide variety of appetizers, entrées, and desserts, the consistency stands out.
The menu leans upscale American with a prix-fixe format, and while expectations are high at this price point, the dishes consistently deliver in both flavor and presentation.

Dessert – Space 220
The appetizers are thoughtful and elevated, the entrées are well-seasoned and plated beautifully, and portions feel appropriate for a signature dining experience.
Nothing tastes rushed or mass-produced, which can sometimes be a concern in highly themed restaurants.

But the undeniable star of the entire menu? The carrot cake.
It is, without question, the best item served at Space 220.

Carrot Cake – Space 220
Moist, perfectly spiced, rich without being heavy, and layered with just the right balance of cream cheese frosting; it feels indulgent in the best way.
Even guests who don’t typically order carrot cake tend to leave impressed.

If atmosphere draws guests in, the food, especially that carrot cake, is what makes the experience feel complete.
